The task

We received an invitation to tender for the replacement of the roof waterproofing and, in some cases, the thermal insulation of industrial halls built by Prologis 15-20 years ago. The first project was at the industrial park in Gyal, where we were able to ensure a smooth execution despite the winter weather - while taking into account the hall's valuable, water-sensitive stock. We managed the work by monitoring the weather several times a day and making quick decisions as a result. After the first reference, we were commissioned to refurbish three more roofs, replacing a total of 70,000 m² of insulation in less than a year, while logistics companies kept the halls running.

The construction

We had to develop our attention and discipline to the maximum in the challenging winter weather. We adapted to the difficulties of the rainy winter and the summer heat with the best quality materials and fast-tracked work processes. Like the cold, the heat over several months required a serious effort from all members of the team. Roofs were replaced in increments of around 1000 m² per day, taking care to provide a final equivalent of insulation at the end of each shift, minimising the risk of soaking. A new fall protection system was installed on all roofs.

Handover

Roof renovations were carried out in phases over a 3-4 month period, depending on the size, complexity and weather conditions of the roof. Before each handover, an internal defect list was prepared and continuously corrected to ensure that the technical handover took place as quickly as possible.
