Hotel extension in Buda Castle - a special project in a special place

Hotel extension in Buda Castle - a special project in a special place
Published:

We are working on an exciting hotel extension in the historic Buda Castle area, on behalf of a family-owned boutique hotel. What makes this project so special is not only the location, but also the fact that once again a former Client has voted us in for another joint project. After a quick tender and agreement, we started the construction at the end of January 2024.

The hotel expansion, which will take three months to complete, will include four luxury two-bedroom suites. It will also renew the common areas of the building, which are listed as a historical monument. The result will be unique rooms with a bohemian ambience, which we will be delighted to showcase once the construction is complete.

In the execution of the project, our company does not only carry out the construction tasks: we are responsible for all construction details, from the preliminary technical coordination of the suppliers appointed by the Client to their on-site coordination and project and construction management - naturally under the clear guidance of the Client.

A particular challenge is that the construction work is being carried out in the vicinity of continuously operating functions - office, hotel and restaurant. This requires increased forward planning and precise coordination: the noisier phases of the work can only be timed during less sensitive periods so as not to disrupt their operation.

The works include, among others:

  • fine breakdowns
  • dry construction and masonry works
  • estrich concrete replacement
  • parquet sanding and oiling
  • hot coating, painting, surface treatments
  • limestone-tiled bathrooms and toilets
  • expansion of engineering systems
  • construction of the electricity network

The full handover will take place by mid-April 2025, with the site being handed over in a cleaned-up state, ready for furnishing and trial operation.

This hotel extension is a clear example of how combining a historic environment with modern design solutions is not only possible, but can be successfully achieved with the right project management and experience.
